Agate is a common gemstone consisting of chalcedony and quartz, and can be found in a variety of colors. They are primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks. Agates can be found all over the world. The ornamental use of Agate dates back to Ancient Greece where it was set in jewelry and seals, however beaded necklaces of polished agate have been found in the Indus Valley Civilizations dating back to the Bronze Age.  

Agate is a stone of vitality and courage; it tones and strengthens the mind & body by grounding and stabilizing emotions and physical energy. Known to assist in being able to see the truth and accept yourself as you are. It is very cleansing stone and can help you to feel more soothed and calm due to its ability to eliminate negative energy.
