Iolite also called "Water Sapphires" where first discovered in 1807 by A.G. Werner and are known for their violet blue coloring. They can be found in Brazil, Madagascar, Burma and India. 

Iolite is believed to aid in personal growth by boosting intuition, self awareness and inner wisdom. It is considered a transformation stone that can help you facilitate change, release negativity and encourages thinking outside the box. Also a great stone to carry for overcoming addictions as it promotes detoxification and a clear perspective. Iolite works with the Third Eye Chakra which is thought to help with communication, perception and psychic abilities.

I try to get the most accurate photo possible, but due to natural variations in the stones, and individual monitor settings, there may be slight variations in colors from the photo to the stone in hand. Many times the actual stone is much better than my photo, as the camera does not always cooperate with me!
