Mahogany Obsidian is a form of obsidian that contains inclusions of Magnetite or Hematite which creates the reddish brown coloring. All types of obsidian are formed by naturally occurring volcanic glass. This particular material can be found in Mexico, Brazil, Afghanistan, Japan and the U.S.
Mahogany Obsidian is called the "Stone of Strength" and it is all about giving you the balance you need to find your inner strength and will power. I try to get the most accurate photo possible, but due to natural variations in the stones, and individual monitor settings, there may be slight variations in colors from the photo to the stone in hand. Many times the actual stone is much better than my photo, as the camera does not always cooperate with me!
